Walking and cycling

A brisk hike around the farm or along the nearby Ashby Canal will blow the cobwebs away.

We’re situated on the edge of The National Forest which has ample walks and cycle trails to explore. Take a look at Hicks Lodge: The National Forest Cycle Centre for inspiration.

You can cycle to Shackerstone steam railway, Moira Furnace Museum and Country Park or even Market Bosworth where you could stop for lunch or browse the independent shops around the old square.

Note: guests should bring their own bicycles or hire them. The nearest bike hire shop is Grounds Cycle Centre at Hicks Lodge.

Shopping

Just half an hour away you can experience Selfridges at Birmingham’s Bullring and Harvey Nichols at the Mailbox. Or head north to Nottingham, now the UK’s leading provincial shopping city, beaten only by London’s West End and Glasgow according to Experian Retail Ranking. You really are spoilt for choice.
