Team-building activities - it’s not all work and no play ...
The possibilities for your corporate retreat are endless: from geocaching around our working arable farm to Gareth Malone style sing-while-you work experiences to get your team performing together. Just let Jean know your budget and what you want to achieve from your activity and she’ll make suggestions and arrangements on your behalf.
Relax and unwind
Putting the treat into corporate retreat is our holistic therapist, Jill from Space Holistic Therapies. She will sooth away stress and ensure your executives are ready for the challenges ahead. A brisk hike around the farm or along the nearby Ashby Canal is a great way for your team to refresh between sessions.
Country pursuits
Not actually on the farm but very close by, you can try clay pigeon shooting and falconry.
Activities
There’s lots of nearby fun and games to choose from throughout your corporate retreat. From 4x4 driving, paint-balling and raft-building to orienteering, go-karting, quad biking and a whole host of other activities. All perfect for team building, and a little bit of inter-team competition.
Murder mystery
For an interactive team dining experience, let us turn our inter-connected cottage into a crime scene. Especially popular for corporate retreats, your team members will be briefed on their characters so that they’re engaged and intrigued ahead of your event.
Food and drink connoisseurs
Gin, wine and whisky
If you already know your Pinot from your Semillon, what about a whisky pairing dinner (all responsibly done)? Or teach your team which whisky to drink with cheese or chocolate.
Canapés and cocktails
Show off your prowess at canapé making . Will your team make the best? Fun pre-dinner team activity – and you get to eat them! Why not try our Cocktail and Canapé experience? Delicious canapés matched with exciting cocktails! Cocktail mixing? Our mixologist will create the dream cocktails! Think you know your gins? Let our gin tasting sessions test your taste buds!
Cupcakes and cookery
Turn The Refectory into a cup-cake production line or enjoy a cookery school demonstration with some team participation; then enjoy the results next time you break for coffee.

Upper Rectory Farm Cottages are a collection of 9 restored farm barns set in the middle of a 200 acre arable farm in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside with wide-ranging views across the cornfields. Six of the cottages are on ground floor level and the other three are two-storey buildings.
The Refectory is a large ground-floor dining/meeting room for use with the latter cottages and has it’s own kitchen situated in the centre of the two-storey group of cottages but is on the ground floor with level access to both the dining room and kitchen. There is a separate ground floor accessible shower room available to all guests if required.
Each cottage has an information folder with emergency numbers and owner’s contact details.
The tarmac farm drive is half a mile long and slopes gradually as it nears the cottages. The cottages are set around 3 interconnecting courtyards and have level access throughout and parking right up to the doors.
We look forward to welcoming you. If you have any queries or require any assistance please phone 01827 880448 or email info@upperrectoryfarmcottages.co.uk.
